Hardware controls

Melodics works with MIDI keyboards, pad controllers, and drum kits. Many devices also have additional controls mapped for moving around the Melodics app!

There are also several handy keyboard shortcuts – check them out here.

Hardware controls for Keyboards:

We’re working hard to map more MIDI keyboards. In the meantime, many keyboards with transport controls built in (buttons for Play, Forward, Back, etc) will work by default – press those buttons when on the pre-play screen and see if they work!

Here’s an example: The Novation LaunchKey 49 has transport controls on the top right of the keyboard.

Hardware controls for Pad Controllers:

What hardware will you be using to play Melodics?

Melodics works best with hardware.

You can play it with your computer keyboard, but it is a much better experience with access to a MIDI keyboard, pad controller, or MIDI drum kit.
